XXXI Rallye Elba Storico-Trofeo Locman Italy: 141 entries anticipate another successful edition
Also this year the island race, scheduled from 19 to 21 September, has again collected a broad consensus from Italian and foreign drivers, with as many as 13 various nations represented so it will still be one of the most participated Italian and even continental rallies.
There will be 10 Special Stages, with the main changes on the course regarding the lengthening of the test of Capoliveri and with all the evidence concerning Monte Perone reversed from the past.
Capoliveri (Island of Elba, Livorno), 14 September 2019 - Last days of waiting, then from next Thursday the XXXI RALLYE ELBA STORICO-TRFOEO LOCMAN ITALY, will turn on the engines proposing again exciting challenges with the Italian and foreign protagonists of the rallies for historic cars.
We will be faced with a new event of great importance, again this year rewarded by a high number of three-digit registered members, 141 in total, divided into 106 for the rally, 17 for Elba Graffiti, and 18 for the Historic Regularity Sport. To these are added the 24 participants at the exclusive "Ferrari goes to Elba".
Thus, once again, the numbers speak for the race, and in this context, as many as 13 nations will be represented, with crews arriving from Antigua and Barbuda, Austria, Belgium, Estonia, Finland, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Norway, Holland, Sweden, Switzerland, Hungary. Surely it will be the most participated competition in Tuscany and one of the most "crowded" historical one in Italy and in the continental area.
Confirmed in its classic location at the late of summer, appropriate to favor the extension of the tourist season on the largest island of the Tuscan archipelago as the "modern" rally had opened this year in April, will have several more reasons.
Valid as the penultimate round of the FIA EUROPEAN HISTORIC SPORTING RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP, as well as the penultimate also of the CAMPIONATO ITALIANO RALLY AUTO STORICHE (National Championship), the race that combines sport, culture and an automotive history among the most exciting in the world, obviously has also the “Graffiti” in tow , valid for the “Campionato Italiano Regolarità a Media Auto Storiche” (Average Regularity Championship) and will also have the competition of Regularity “sport”.
The part of the "regularity", therefore also this year doubles and furthermore, there will be further strong arguments, like the always spectacular "TROFEO A112 ABARTH" (of which this is the last appointment, with the two stages that will be two distinct rallies) and the "MEMORY NINO FORNACA".
A RACE DESIGNED TO MAKE THE ISLAND "LIVE"
Strengthened by the broad consensus achieved over the years by competitors, enthusiasts and professionals (8,000 units on the movement of those present with various roles at the event last year), ACI Livorno Sport designed the 2019 edition ready to consolidate the high quality offered in past editions. Since 2011, the headquarters has moved to Capoliveri, a location that was obviously confirmed for this edition as well, and since 2010 it has also been a special stage that passes through the town, which will be repeated this year in an elongated version.
The design of the route, with respect to the past, above all with regard to the temporal space of development, this is to make the island and its beauties live as much as possible to all those who will be involved in various ways in the context of the rally. Because it is understood as belonging to the territory, but above all “for the territory”, of which it favors the image, the communication and also the economic repercussion with emotional tourism, that is brought on the Island by the event itself. Moreover, in designing the three days of the competition it was decided to develop it homogeneously throughout the island, both to strengthen the will that the event is for the whole island and also because we want to create less discomfort as possible to residents.
On the technical-sporting level, the most important novelty concerning the course, in addition to the lengthened Capoliveri test, is the characteristic that all the special stages that will involve Monte Perone ("Due Mari" and "San Piero") will be covered in the opposite sense of the past.
Nothing has changed, however, compared to the previous editions as far as logistics is concerned: the headquarters of the event is confirmed in Capoliveri, in the functional facilities of the Hotel Elba International, an exclusive location that admires the Gulf of Porto Azzurro, where the Race Direction, the Secretariat and the Press Room.
